China plans for humanoid Olympics

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The International Trade Commission sided with a handful of U.S. steel manufacturers Wednesday, ruling that China has been selling piping products in the U.S. at prices deemed less than fair value.

DENVER (CBS4) ― The days of cheap tire prices may be gone for good. Tire prices are on the rise, in large part due to an effort by President Obama to save American jobs. Some American tire makers have had to shut down because of low cost tires flooding in from China.

"The US has been exporting large amounts of low-priced poultry products like chicken wings, drumsticks and claws that Americans do not consume," Ma Chuang, deputy secretary-general of China Animal Agriculture Association, told the Global Times yesterday. "America also doesn't allow any importation of chicken from China. It is quite unreasonable," he added.

Oh Sure ya Betcha! Been eating what I want when I want. Never excercising. Drinking the bars up till closing or the bottles are empty. I guess I went a little crazy...

Was it my abiity to live this way that led me to this or was it some external expression of my views of the world around me?

Symbols have power beyond their original purpose. The Red Cross is just such a symbol.

If you support a service provided by the Federal government to treat Americans who require medical attention, please show your support by wearing a Red Cross on your person.

Let Government hear from You.

Pass IT ON!

Let them know you are wearing the Red Cross!!!

Silent Country

As I watch C-SPAN, I see public representatives and health industry professionals discuss the future of health care. Were it not for the discourse, would I care?

Photobucket

Health is a word that can be desribed by some, with numbers and formulas, others by schemes and logic or emotion.

National thinking and national reasoning have been used for a myriad of actions.

The conversation of health care seems to be focused on getting American workers back into production mode. Pull up your boot straps! Rise with the Dawn!

But I also see a sign of us understanding our fate. A mass amount of Americans will be entering the years of their lives when they are no longer skilled or endowed with the faculties to produce. Rather, they will be watching our actions, watching our children as we work, watching the country they abide, move on.

We are obese and sickly. We are thin and tired. We are high and proud. We are foriegn and new. We are what we eat.

Pour Some Pepper on Me

I saw the Penguin movie. And now I'm hearing about the Penguin soap...

Well after hearing about this recent story about penguin lovers, I actually felt sad.

I guess this is just the first "love" story I've heard about involving animals... besides another one that happenened in Washington state in 2005.

Independent?

Today, while waiting for the Metro, I heard a woman in traffic screaming at the top of her lungs, "All you care about is yourself!"

Well as someone who has been accused of this, I must admit I am fairly self interested. So much so that one could say I am independent.

Photobucket

Being human does have it's positive aspects. Independent thought and action being two of these.

This (Independence Day) July 4th I will eat and drink with close friends and enjoy their company. Most of all, I will reflect on the actions that have enabled me to be independent.

Return To Sender

So I rarely eat fast food but today I tried... I ordered 1 burger to go.

No special instructions.

As I waited for about FIVE minutes for my single burger(actual amount of time), a blond lady had ordered then returned 1 of her 3 burgers after eating the first two.

She says to the cashier "theres a hair in this one" as I'm standing there waiting for my SINGLE burger order.

Photobucket

I'm number 423 and they are serving 438 by now. Well I noticed the hair in the lady's burger was blond. She was blond and guess what? All the people working the joint were NOT blond... At All! That would've required lots of bleach.. anyway...
I found myself angry but dignified and still hungry.

I approached the counter with sympathy for the staff and requested upon my order. Another 3 orders passed by as I overheard the guy in back say "I never got that guy's ticket". Uhhh..

Well this once-a-month burger trip will be moving down the street from now on. Between the "foriegn" hair and the wait, I can't justify going back. Not to mention the bad memories will certainly make the food taste less fun.

So I'm against hate and for free speach. Where does hate speach become criminal? What phobias are tolerable. Often, breaking down these phobias requires free speach. Some of which is not tolerated by even American authorities.

It will be quite a trip watching this unfold.

Some great computer speakers from the a second hand shop and $30 dollars of groceries and I am set.

This is the reward in making home homely. Only took me 15 years out of the nest to figure this out... LOL

Enjoy these bits of cinema that I got on the rotation.

Before "The Hangover" there was this somberish flick...

After ya score your sauce, flick this one on.

One from my favorite Writer/Director... reading the youtube reviews is entertaining in itself. LOL

I'm wondering if this film can hold it's own against the Johnny Cash and Ray Charles films of recent past... The hair and make-up are coming back.

July 4th Party

President Obama's Commencement Speach to the Notre Dame graduates was one I could listen to more than a few times. I had the same loving feeling during his speach that I used to have in Sunday Church once in awhile.

If you have attended church, you know there are those sundays where it is fire and brimstone and then there are the loving sermons followed by a big potluck and friends.

Presidents Obamas speach felt like a wonderful lead into a Nationwide Potluck. I am going to play this speach at my July 4th Party

Viewing this puts into perspective, the closeness with which we all share this planet. Puts the folks in Sri Lanka right next door.

Languages will condense as they have and maybe we will get along before we kill the planet. Maybe we are not meant to be forever?

Looking at the size of the universe, it seems that these earthly conflicts are trivial. Until cooperative action becomes more useful than individual gain, I fear these conflicts will continue.

American debt

The Roaring 20's are when many Americans begin to rack up that debt they may never pay off in a lifetime.

Photobucket

It may be that once the government realizes how much money is lost due to poor lending practices, that U.S public high schools will require a thorough course on credit industry pratices.

Anything less will not change American's consumer practices. The past generation of parents and consumers have proven that education is needed on a national scale in this critical area. It is a national security issue when we consider who finances American debt.

KFC RIOTS

Photobucket

I have long been a believer of the nothing is free gig and once again it seems that a major Corporation has proven this again.

www.yum.com

YUM Brands owns – KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver's. So if you are one of the "lucky" coupon holders for KFC, I suggest you just go to one of the three other food stores that YUM Brands owns and get your feast on.

Check out this MAG LE DON post below to see more on YUM Brands.

CAUTION! It involves dead horses.

Metric America

Could America be losing BIG business for a small reason?

Photobucket

Time to go green America!

The US has been in the process of adopting the metric system
since 1975. Could the Obama team be the key to the transition?

Photobucket

One liter of water is one kilogram.

Many manufacturers in America want to go metric but can't due to regulations.
This translates to lost jobs.

Sons of the Gun

Umm... who would authorize two beat cops to "ATTEMPT" to arrest an obviously armed man with previous history of violence at a freakin' GUN CLUB?

This year (2009) has been a bad year for police deaths and I gotta say alot of them could have been prevented if the officers were using their heads.

Or at least thinking a few steps ahead.... This does not look like a guy who would go down easy. Especially after firing off lots of rounds at the GUN CLUB and BEATING his partner....
