The talent must just know "we are good enough" being born into this area. But all artists in this town are fairly asshole-ish. So if you meet one, five times you'll never know who they really are until they move to the east coast or do a vh1 special.
Quirky Rebel Commy Lovers... something to that effect... It can be imitated. I've seen it in places like Mississippi and Texas... and other places nobody wants to go to.
